PUBLIC LECTURE FOR NEW STUDENTS 2018

HAri Tuesday, date 4 December 2018, HMP PGSD University of PGRI Yogyakarta held a public lecture activity intended for new students year generation 2018 which took place in the Auditorium Unit 1 PGRI University Yogyakarta. This activity raises a theme, that is ” Optimization of Character Education as an effort to conservation morals pThere is a digital era “. This event was followed by a number less 249 Participants who are new students of PGSD UPY Batch 2018.

This event was also attended by invited guests, among others :Mr. Chancellor of PGRI University Yogyakarta, Father Dr. And. Paiman, M. P.Mr. Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of PGRI Yogyakarta, Mr. Darsono, M.Pd.,Mr. Chairman of the PGSD University PGRI Yogyakarta Study Program, Mr. Ari Wibowo, M.Pd.Mr/Mrs Lecturer in Elementary School Teacher Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education PGRI University Yogyakarta.

The event was opened by MC at 08.00 WIB, previously begins with the committee's preparation from the o'clock 06.00 WIB. The event opened with a joint prayer followed by singing the song Indonesia Raya, Mars upy, and MARS PGSD, with the committee of the committee.

After the opening ceremony was held, continued the speech event delivered by the head of the committee (the term), followed by the Chairperson of the UPY PGSD Study Program (Mr. Ari Wibowo, M.Pd.), Then by the Dean of FKIP UPY (Mr. Darsono, M.Pd.), and finally by the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Yogyakarta (Father Dr. And. Paiman, M. P.) as well as officially and symbolic opening a public lecture that day.

After the remarks, The event was continued by dance entertainment performances under the name "Sembahan Putri Dance" and danced by 3 UPY PGSD students.

The next event is the core of the event, namely the delivery of public lecture material by two competent speakers in the field according to the theme raised in the event. As for the speaker 1, that is My mother. Place of Wedding, S.Pd., M.Pd is a lecturer in PGSD Yogyakarta State University who is competent in the topic of Character Education Discussion. Whereas as a speaker 2, that is, Mr. R. Hafid Hardyanto, S.Pd., M.Pd is a lecturer at Yogyakarta PGRI University who also serves as the Head of UPY PPTIK who is competent in the topic of the Digital Era Discussion. The core event was guided by moderator Mr. Arip Febrianto, M.Pd (Lecturer at PGRI University Yogyakarta).

After the material delivery by the two speakers, Opened questioning sessions to the entire audience especially to the participants of the general lecture. Question and answer session aims to increase the participant's understanding of the material that has been delivered by the speaker. The participants were quite enthusiastic in asking questions to the two speakers and the questions were quite critical, as a sign they still want to explore further the topic of the discussion of a public lecture.

The core program ends with a giving a memento to the speaker and moderator. And after one by one the event is carried out, Followed by the closure guided by the MC.

The background we raise the theme is to try to adjust to the current living conditions. Globalization gives birth to a civilization which is referred to as the digital era. An era where almost all fields of life are colored by advances in digital technology. Includes education field, who later include consumers are elementary school teachers and elementary school students.

The digital era has a positive and negative impact. Facilitate the work of users is one of the positive impacts of the digital era. But the negative, This era raises an interesting statement to discuss. In fact, The digital era is one of the factors causing moral degradation in generation sEkarang or often we know the term trending as a generation of era now. This statement finally gave birth to a new saying, "Your finger is your tiger". Where when our hands are holding the gadget, We are sometimes negligent, to do something that deviates from the morals.

The world of education, including elementary school, is one of the parties able to share In overcoming the impact of the moral degradation case. Therefore, The target of this public lecture event is a new student 2018, as a prospective teacher elementary school in the future.

Public Lecture Event 2018 It aims to print the figure of an elementary school teacher who has character so that when entering the world of work can carry out his profession into a figure who is truly able, and able to educate and guide the morals of their students to be wise in addressing the flow of globalization. The influence of the digital era is unable to reject, When we reject it we do not follow the current development of the time. But we are able to filter, namely with character.
